As with most things, jewellery experiences natural wear and tear over time. Our handmade jewellery is designed to be sturdy however it is not recommended to wear our earrings in water (shower, bath, swimming, etc.), while sleeping or doing strenuous activities. To prolong the life of your earrings, store them in a cool, dry place where they cannot be crushed, scratched or dented. Use a damp wipe or cloth to clean your earrings regularly. Please note that any excessive force (dropping earring on hard surfaces, children forcefully tugging, etc.) may damage the earrings. In the unfortunate event of unexplained breakage, please contact us here or by Instagram DM.

Here are some tips to ensure you get the longest life from your homewares.

Resin is usually quite stable, however if exposed to temperatures greater than 55 Degrees Celcius or below freezing, it may distort, discolour or crack. This also applies if left in direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

Avoid using sharp objects on the resin, as it may scratch and dent

Store in a cool, dry place when not in use

Our homewares are not dishwasher safe

To clean your product, hand wash in mild soap and water

Do not use abrasive cleaners or soak or stand in water

Use board oil to maintain wooden components as needed

Food Safe Resin - What you need to know
Not all resins are safe to use in direct contact with food. The FDA in the USA and Australian regulatory authorities have both established extensive testing and regulatory regimes to ensure that any products designed for use in direct contact with food do not contaminate the food. To obtain a food safe rating, each resin manufacturer has to pass a rigorous testing regime to ensure food is not contaminated when in contact with the cured resin product.
Oh My Deer Creations uses food safe resin for all of our homewares that are likely to come in contact with food for your peace of mind. The use of food safe resin is noted on each product listing and the care instruction card attached to the product.

Please note that the FDA food safe rating is for cool and warm food only (<55 Degrees Celcius). Exposing your resin products to temperatures greater than this may result in distortion, discolouration and breakdown of the resin.
